Bishop Russell was ordained in the Church of God in Christ under the late Bishop E. B. Stewart. He has pastored churches in San Francisco and in the foreign countries of Turkey and Taiwan. He recently returned from Africa where he consecrated Bishop Philip Momo in Liberia and Bishop Isaiah Oendo in Kenya. He also has churches in the country of India.

Bishop felt led of God to establish the Church in God and Christ which dates back to 1976 and he believes God will magnify this church in due time.
